Schools in Residence Programme

We are taking a look back to 2017 when we developed our Schools in Residence Programme with the iconic and historically important Soho House in Handsworth.

Schools were assisted to use this amazing building as a unique educational tool to inspire creativity within pupils, for between 2 and 8 weeks. Activities included exploring spoken word, architecture and design, costume, drama, cultural identity, music and much more.

All the curriculum enhancing work took place in Soho House, the former home of entrepreneur Matthew Boulton who resided there from 1766 until his death in 1809, and which was also a regular meeting-place of the Lunar Society of Birmingham.
