SEND Fest 2019

A shared training day based on best practice and inclusion

March 2019 was the date of our very first SEND training day, SENDFEST, at the West Bromwich Albion Football Ground.

The aim of the day was to equip school leaders and classroom practitioners with the knowledge and practical strategies needed to support pupils' additional needs and mental health.

Delegates heard from leading speakers on SEND and found out more about the work of Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP) to support inclusion across the city.

In the afternoon there was a choice of workshops covering topics such as leading SEND and how to best support pupils with ASC, SLCN and SEMH in the classroom, delivered by leading national consultants.

This event was ideal for those working with SEND pupils in mainstream or specialist schools or family support services and was a fantastic opportunity to network and collaborate with other practitioners.  SENDFEST attendees reported to us that it was especially useful to be able to take away practical advice, ideas and support to help them make a real difference in their school.
