Aiming to increase young people's understanding and awareness of political processes and encourage active involvement in their schools and communities
Back in 2011 we began our collaboration with Birmingham City University (BCU) to help local students learn more about democracy and citizenship. Ten years on, lockdown notwithstanding, we are still providing young people with the opportunity to develop leadership and creative skills, and to learn how big decisions are made. The Green Mentor is coming to find you!
Funding received for Green Mentor for 2 years
No, not a late Halloween story but some great news about a new project starting in January, led by Handsworth Association of Schools. We will make available a green mentor to local schools who will help develop green projects with the chldren at your school. The projects might be on your school site or in a local park or green space. It might be an existing idea that you never quite got done or a brand new initiative. We think this is a fantastic opportunity and we hope you will join in the project when it gets underway.
